Industry Newletter | Spring 2012

The first quarter of 2012 has been very active with several awards and promising opportunities coming to fruition. We have had a nice blend of new contracts awarded in several markets including government and commercial. Although we are still seeing the results of budget cuts within the federal government as well as a slow economy, it is exciting to know our efforts to diversify the company into other markets is beginning to pay off. This update will primarily focus on our domestic and Asia markets. For a detailed update on our European markets please read our SAR Ltd. section of the newsletter.

This project was to design, manufacture, and install a new set of walkways with handrail for a large blade mould at the Vestas Windsor Facility. MOX Airlock Systems
Shaw AREVA MOX Services, LLC, has the contract with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to design, build, and operate a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel fabrication facility at the Savannah River site near Aiken, South Carolina. The MOX Project is a major part of the United States’ strategy to dispose of weapon-grade plutonium by making fuel pellets to be used as fuel for commercial nuclear reactors. S.A. Technology is providing five airlock assemblies for the laboratory gloveboxes in the MOX facility.
