Project Scheduler/Cost Analyst
Basic Purpose:
The Project Scheduler/Cost Analyst develops and maintains design and fabrication schedules on assigned multi-discipline projects with a high degree of technical complexity, typically involving a computerized scheduling software system. This position also analyzes project costs in conjunction with schedules to insure profitable delivery of projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for preparing, directing and maintaining complex plans for activities of a highly technical nature such as a program master plan and the project schedule network. Also responsible for analyzing actual project costs incurred relative to project budgets to facilitate corrective actions and effectively manage the change control process. Provides overall technical expertise for the development of project schedules via:
- Use project planning and scheduling software and output from interactive planning meetings with project team members as a basis for developing the project schedule.
- Obtain input from project team members engineering, fabrication, and sub-contractors to support the development of a baseline project schedule, and subsequently to update schedule progress and forecasting.
- Lead and facilitate the planning process by developing detailed deliverable oriented schedules.
- Ensure that detailed schedules have been reviewed by the appropriate parties prior to the baselining process. Obtain signatures of parties involved on the schedule to document agreement with the deliverable dates baselined.
- Provide timely analysis and weekly reports to support the project team. Evaluate schedule alternatives to support project changes and baseline change control.
- Assist the project coordinators in identifying delinquent schedule dates and establishing recovery schedules.
- Work closely with document control to obtain and maintain an intimate working knowledge of document flow from engineering to fabrication.
- Review transmittals and other outgoing documents in order to update completed deliverables.
- Completion dates will be updated weekly to ensure that the appropriate schedule is accurate.
- Participate in project review meetings as required.
- Support project proposal and bidding process as required.
- Conduct project scheduling meetings to review and update schedules/costs with input from the integrated project team.
- Incorporate sub-contractor deliverable dates into the baseline schedule.
- Ensure the detailed schedule is complete and approved in a timely fashion for its inclusion in the final, signed master project schedule.
- Analyze project schedules to identify activity predecessors to a project deliverable assignment.
- Display status of predecessors to assist the project manager on obtaining the necessary information for designs to proceed.
- Assemble "To-Do" lists as planning tools for project managers and project coordinators.
- Provide assessment of program schedule/cost performance to project management and identify trends and suggest corrective actions and support implementation.
- Utilize a variety of software tools to optimize program schedules and perform risk analysis.
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment Education and Work Experience:
- A commitment to enhance SA Robotics’ mission and work.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and at least 7 years of planning/scheduling experience.
- 5 or more years experience using computerized scheduling software.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present material to senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally and with customers.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Office and Deltek.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Equipment and Applications
Project management techniques and tools, safety management, PCs, calculator, financial spreadsheet, and project management software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
General office environment. Some stress may occur, especially during project update cycles. No special physical demands required. Work is primarily in an office setting with some trips to operating facilities.
