Remote Shear
Pro/E Model of Remote Shear
Savannah River Project: Remote Control Operated Pipe Shear. A wheel mounted pipe shear with the capability to shear and grasp contaminated steel pipe up to 4” outside diameter was completed for decommissioning work at the Savannah River project. The pipe shear is mounted on a robotic arm with an 18’ reach and four (4) axis of rotation. The joystick controlled robotic arm is hydraulically powered. System controls and operational considerations were custom designed and fabricated to meet the requirements of the end user.
