The Tank 16 Annulus spaces and associated air ducting process scheme for the Washington Savannah River Company included a wide range of tooling and technical engendering provided by S.A.Robotics. The SAR process used two types of deployment systems: a carbon fiber long reach manipulator was used to access all spaces within the annulus, and a blast head thrusting system was used to clean the air ducting. The complete process was a dry approach which efficiently removed all debris in the annulus space as well as in the air ducting. This dry approach minimized on the amount of secondary waste and eliminated the risk of leaks. This process gave Washington Savannah River Companya safe and cost effective solution to the cleaning of tank 16 annulus.
