Short Reach Ultra High Payload Manipulators
S.A. Robotics designs and fabricates short reach, ultra high capacity remote manipulators to support decommissioning and decontamination efforts in underwater and dry environments. These ultra high capacity manipulators have been used as part of a Remote Manipulator System to remove and process materials in radiation fields up to 40 R/hr.

- Hydraulic actuators provide shoulder tilt, forearm rotation, wrist tilt, and wrist rotation
- Carbon fiber, aluminum, and powder coated steel construction
- Attached to one of two independent 40 foot carbon fiber arms in cell
- Carbon fiber arm mounted to overhead gantry crane to access all areas of cell
- High resolution fixed focus color CCD cameras on the wrist and forearm monitor manipulator activities
- Joystick controls, touch screen controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
